SEAL STOP PU is cold applied waterproofing chemical, specially designed from a blend of modified polyurethane, reinforced with special water repelling fillers, minerals, stabilizers and gelling agent. To put it simply we may say it is one-component, polyurethane, liquid waterproofing membrane for flat roofs and balconies, offering excellent mechanical, chemical, thermal, UV and weather resistance. When applied properly it forms a uniform, elastic, vapor-permeable sealing layer which is rubbery and elastic in nature. The film is selfcuring and cures by reaction with atmospheric moisture to give a tough elastomeric waterproof membrane. It is applicable, even on irregular substrates and suitable also for green roofs and flower beds.
AREA OF USAGE
SEAL STOP-PU is ideal for waterproofing:
KEY FEATURES
1. FOR FULL-SURFACE WATERPROOFING
SEAL STOP PU is applied by brush or roller intwo layers. The first layer is applied 2-3 hoursafter priming and while Primer is still tacky. Thesecond layer should be applied crosswise after8-24 hours, depending on the weatherconditions. Consumption: 1.0-1.5 kg/m2,depending on substrate type. In case of dense, multiple cracks all over the surface, it is stronglyrecommended to fully reinforce SEAL STOP PUwith 100 cm wide strips of fiber mash, whichmust overlap by 5-10 cm. Two three hours afterpriming, the first layer of SEAL STOP PU isapplied to a width of 100 cm and while stillfresh a strip of polyester fleece is embedded. The same application process is followed onthe remaining surface. Then, two extra layers ofSEAL STOP PU are applied over the entiresurface.
2. FOR CRACKS COATING
In this case, the primer is applied on the substrate only along the cracks, to a width of 10- 12 cm. Two-three hours after priming, the first SEAL STOP PU layer is applied and, while is still fresh, a 10 cm wide polyester fleece strip (60 g/m2 or 120 g/m2) is embedded lengthwise. Two extra SEAL STOP PU layers are applied along the cracks, completely covering the reinforcement. Consumption: > 250 g/m of crack length, depending on substrate type.
3. FOR WALL JOINTS
SEAL STOP PU is applied by brush or roller intwo layers. SEAL STOP PU should be locallyreinforced along joints and wall-floor junctionsby embedding a 10 cm wide polyester fleecestrip (60 g/m2 or 120 g/m2) on its first layerwhile is still fresh. Then, two extra SEAL STOPPU layers are applied along the cracks, completely covering the reinforcement. Afterapplying the final layer and while this is stillfresh, quartz sand (Ø 0.3-0.8 mm) must bebroadcast. The quartz sand must becompletely dry. Consumption of quartz sand:approx. 3 kg/m2. After 24 hours, any loosegrains should be removed with a high-suctionvacuum cleaner. Tiles should be fixed with ahigh-performance, polymer-modified tileadhesive.
