Storage Conditions: Rolls must be stored in their original package, in vertical position and under cool and dry conditions. They must be protected from direct sunlight, rain, snow and ice, etc.
Application Process
A. SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
Cementitious or mineral based substrates must be prepared mechanically using abrasive blast cleaning or scarifying equipment to remove cement laitance and to achieve an open textured surface. Loose friable material and weak concrete must be completely removed and surface defect. The concrete must be carefully assessed for moisture content, air entrapment, and surface finish prior to any primer application. Apply the TT Primabit Primer, at the correct consumption to the prepared dry surface and allow to dry before next application stage.
B PASTING
Once the roll is aligned, peel back a portion of the silicone release film and press the membrane onto the substrate. When securely adhered, remove the remaining release film from the roll. Use a suitable roller (eg. steel) to press the self-adhesive membrane onto the substrate including the laps. Use the roller to push out any air bubbles out to the edge of the membrane.
C. DETAILING
All details such as internal and external corners, upstands, vent pipes, drains, support metalwork etc. must be cut and sealed effectively. Detailing must follow there commended guidelines and good practice for torch-applied membranes.
D. PROTECTION
The membrane applied over the terrace, must be finished with a coating of aluminium paint for non foot traffic area. For foot trafficked area, overlay with concrete screed mortar. (Not Required in case of Aluminium Top SBS Membranes
PRECAUTIONS:
• Do not apply during rains or extreme temperatures.
• Avoid abuses which may lead to puncturing of membrane.
• Ensure that the product is applied at least6 inches inside the drain pipe.
• Apply parapet to parapet to envelope the entire building for long term performance.
