Sealing Compound for Lead Acid Battery

Torchtar's LT Cabel compound allows very low water vapour permeability, is insoluble in water and subsoil chemicals, is resistance to weathering and to chemical attack give a high performance for electrical application. Its characteristics include low contraction on cooling and an unusually good combination of high softening point, adhesiveness and mechanical strength. It is not only a low cost material but also has adequate balance of temperature, humidity, cleanliness and surface smoothness.

AREAS OF USAGE

LT Cable Compound is particularly suite for accessories operating at high temperatures. They can be used as filling materials for cable jointing for protection of cable box joints (of both electricity and telecommunication) f rom moisture, water and other environmental chemicals so as to avoid failure in the system and hazards to human life. They can also be used for busbar filling and impregnating insulation tapes.

Storage Conditions
Store under cover out of direct sunlight and protect from extremes of temperature. In tropical climates the product must be stored in an airconditioned environment. Failure to comply with the recommended storage conditions may result in premature deterioration of the product or packaging.

APPLICATION

Before application the material is melted in a container and the temperature is to be raised to application temperature under slow stirring. The pouring temperature is to be decided as per the code of practice of application which is decided by the applicator without affecting the characteristics of the filling compounds, and also as per the agreement between purchaser and manufacturer wherever necessary. In no way the material is to be over burnt. The quantity is to be taken in such a way that the entire quantity melted can be used up.
